You likely have an irreversible pulpitis. This is where the dental nerve within the tooth becomes so swollen that it won’t improve without taking the nerve out of the tooth (a root canal) or alternatively extracting the whole tooth. Irreversible pulpitis is considered a dental emergency and you should see a dentist as soon as possible.
